Does CCI oversold bounce actually work on NFLX? We tested it
We ran CCI oversold bounce on NFLX through walk-forward testing and a 100-run random-entry gauntlet. 3 of 4 unseen periods positive. Beat 87 of 100 random-entry runs.
You gave up raw return for a higher win rate and a shallower drawdown. This setup is about timing and staying out of trouble, not beating the index.

This strategy made money overall, turning a 148.89% total return on 30 trades, and it won on 83.33% of them, so most trades were winners. However, the ride was very lumpy, with a brutal maximum drawdown of -48.38% that lasted over a year from early 2021 to early 2022, which is where the strategy hurt the most. The result is not driven by just a few lucky trades, as the entry-timing edge is strong: real entries beat 87% of random entry runs, meaning the timing of when you get in is carrying the result, not the exits. The consistency figure shows the edge showed up steadily across three of the four test periods, so it wasn't just one lucky stretch. In plain terms, this setup works well most of the time but can put you through a very deep and long hole, so you need to be prepared for that kind of pain.
