How to read it

The 4% test

A stock moving 4% or more in one day is real conviction, not drift. Count them on both sides and you know who is in control.

  • 300+ up: real buying pressure
  • 500+ up: major accumulation day
  • 300+ down: distribution

The ratios

The 5 and 10-day ratios sum up-4% days against down-4% days. They flag short-term extremes early.

  • Below 0.5: washed out, bounces start here
  • Around 1: balanced tape
  • Above 2: extended, expect digestion

T2108 and the quarter

T2108 is the share of stocks above their 40-day average. The quarterly counts (25% movers) define the regime.

  • T2108 below 20: bottoming zone
  • T2108 above 70: overheated
  • More 25% gainers than losers: breakout-friendly market

Trade the regime, not the headline
