Diagnosis

This strategy made money overall, turning a 175% total return on AAPL over the period tested. The ride was fairly lumpy, with a win rate of just 42.5%, meaning you lost on more than half of your trades, but the average winning trade was big enough to more than cover the losses. The worst stretch was a 16% drawdown that lasted from late December 2024 into April 2026, so that was the most painful period to sit through. The entry timing shows a real edge, since your actual entries beat 84% of random entry runs, meaning the signal itself is doing a lot of the heavy lifting rather than the exits. The edge was consistent across all four walk-forward test periods, so the result wasn't driven by just one lucky stretch.
